    About Caryl Boncodin, RPsy

Hi, I'm Caryl! I pursued counseling because I've always been deeply curious about people's stories, how experiences shape us, how we cope with challenges, and how meaningful change becomes possible when someone feels truly understood and supported. Over time, this curiosity grew into a commitment to helping people navigate difficult moments with both compassion and practical tools. My biggest motivation in counseling is seeing clients rediscover their sense of agency, realizing that they are not "stuck," but capable of understanding themselves better and making choices aligned with who they want to become. I aim for clients to leave sessions not only feeling heard, but also feeling more equipped to handle life outside therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy learning, attending workshops, spending time in nature, traveling, eating at new food spots, trying new hobbies (tennis, pilates, pottery, perfume-making) and sharing meaningful conversations with friends and loved ones. I value growth: both personal and professional, and continuously seek ways to deepen my understanding of mental health and human resilience.

    My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity about your story. I see counseling as a space where we can slow things down together, to understand what you've been going through, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, and explore new ways of responding to life's challenges. Rather than giving quick advice or solutions, I aim to help you develop deeper understanding, self-compassion, and practical tools that you can carry beyond our sessions. I adapt therapy to each person's needs and pace. Some days, you may need a space to process emotions and feel heard; other days, we may focus on building coping strategies or making small, meaningful changes. I also pay attention to the connection between the mind and body, recognizing that stress, trauma, and emotions are not only thoughts we carry but experiences we physically feel. At the heart of my work is the belief that people are not broken, often, they are responding in understandable ways to difficult experiences. Therapy can help make sense of those responses and create room for growth, clarity, and healing. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, perspective, and support while respecting your autonomy and strengths.
