Although I’m naturally chatty about my thoughts, she made me quite comfortable enough that I briefly forgot that it was a therapy session and was able to comfortably explain my situation

    About Isabel Mapalad, RPsy

Hello! I'm Isabel, but you can call me "Isa". Growing up, I had this belief that if I was able to keep all my emotions in, then that would make me a strong person. It took me a while to find out that it wasn't the case. I had this moment of clarity that opening up, letting yourself be vulnerable, and asking for help when you are struggling is actually a big sign of strength and courage. This is what motivated me to become a psychologist, and that is what I want to show and teach other people who are struggling right now. Life may be hard, but we don't have to go through it alone.

    My Approach to Therapy

The moment I realized that I wanted to help people, it also came with the belief that every single human being has this innate power to help themselves. I know that there are times when it is hard to believe that, and I know there are also days when it feels like there is no hope or light at the end of the tunnel. But, during those times, a person who will listen to you and give you a safe space, while offering you an objective helping hand, does a lot of good. That is my goal for you. I offer a space where you can share all your thoughts in the most unfiltered way. I may not have all the answers, but I know that you have it within you to grow towards positive development. Let's work together towards that.
