    About Elijah Mae Pelayo, RPsy

Madayaw! My name is Elijah. My path into psychology wasn't a straight flight; I discovered it gently through experience. Every client I've encountered has been a subtle but powerful force, guiding me to where I am now. In many ways, each life I get to alight upon is a perpetually blooming flower in my garden of motivation. What fuels this passion of mine is the belief in the power of a single connection. As a fellow human who's fluttered through the turbulence of life, I know the transformative impact of having just one person who truly sees you, listens to you, and cares for you โ€” someone who offers the air beneath your wings. My goal is simple: to help you find that sense of peaceful happiness and enjoyment in the process of becoming, of pagbuti, and just simply being. I embrace the beautiful chaos of life, and my curiosity allows me to explore its many facets. My hobbies reflect this appreciation: I find cathartic peace in hiking, the meditative rhythm of knitting, and the joyful chaos of caring for my two cats and two dogs. I also love immersing myself in films and visual arts, feeling through different versions of reality. I view my role as a psychologist as an honor โ€” it allows me to peek into the beauty of the living, and help you either make that view clearer, or to truly see and appreciate the profound beauty you already possess. If you are considering working with me, know that I approach our sessions as an expert, but also as a dedicated, fellow traveler.

    My Approach to Therapy

Stepping into therapy can feel like a profound act of courage โ€” whether it's your first time reaching out, a hopeful return after a difficult experience, or simply seeking a fresh perspective. My work of creating meaningful connections is a clinical process built on compassion, warmth, and understanding. My ultimate goal is to guide and support you towards Pagbuti โ€” overcoming life challenges, building resilience, and pursuing personal growth. My process is guided by four goals that shape every session: 1. Catharsis: Finding Release. Therapy must be the safest space you have. I want you to feel free to release your thoughts, fears, and emotions you've been holding back. 2. Perspective: A Different View. As someone free from the biases and history of your everyday life, I can offer you an unbiased, third-person view informed by psychological understanding. 3. Reflection: Unlocking Your Wisdom. While I bring expertise in psychology, you are the ultimate expert on your own life. My role is to gently prompt introspection so that the insights and solutions we discover are products of your own wisdom. 4. Connection: Reaching Back. In moments of extreme struggle, extending your hand for help takes immense courage. I am here to reach back. My commitment is to move at your pace, provide unwavering support, and help you find clarity and peace in the process of becoming and feeling better.
