    About Annika Reyes, RPsy

My name is Annika. I was inspired to pursue counseling because of my ability to listen with empathy and my genuine desire to help others feel heard, understood, and supported during difficult times. My biggest motivation in counseling is to help individuals manage their concerns, gain insight into their experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. In my free time, I enjoy watching series, visiting coffee shops, and working out whenever I have free time. My goal is to continuously excel in my career as a mental health professional and to eventually pursue a doctorate degree to further deepen my knowledge and competence in the field. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for clients, where they can openly express themselves and feel respected, understood, and empowered as we work collaboratively toward growth, healing, and meaningful change.

    My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that each client is unique, and therefore, therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. I prioritize understanding what each client needs in the moment and tailor my approach accordingly. I view counseling as a collaborative relationship between the client and the therapist. Therapy is not about being told what to do, but about creating a safe and supportive space where clients are able to explore their experiences, gain insight, and foster meaningful change at their own pace. My role as a psychologist is to guide, support, and walk alongside clients as they navigate their concerns, while respecting their autonomy and lived experience. For those who are new to counseling, I strive to make the process feel approachable, transparent, and grounded in trust. For those who may have had difficult or invalidating experiences in the past, I am especially mindful of moving gently, honoring boundaries, and rebuilding a sense of safety within the therapeutic space. I believe that healing and growth happen when clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
