About Jam Igmen, RPsy
Hi, I'm Jan Kamille Igmen, but you can call me Jam.
I originally wanted to become a medical doctor, but discovering a general psychology book during my second year of high school opened my eyes to a different way of healing. I became captivated by how the inner workings of the brain shape who we are and how we behave. Recognizing the significant financial investment that medical school requires, I chose psychology as a practical yet deeply fulfilling way to help others.
My own personal journey keeps me dedicated to this work. Because I know firsthand what it feels like to struggle, and because I am also still in the process of healing, I can relate to my clients with authentic empathy. Helping others find their own strength and healing is not just my job; it is deeply personal.
Self-care for me is about taking time to decompress. Whether I am listening to my favorite playlist, watching a film, or reading a book, these activities keep me centered and give me the mental space to stay clear and focused.
Like anyone, I strive for continuous personal and professional growth. My goal is to become a truly competent mental health professional—someone capable of offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where Filipinos can move past the fear of stigma, gain self-awareness, and build lasting emotional resilience.
I want my clients to know that they are stepping into a space of trust and genuine empathy. I understand how intimidating it can be to seek help in our society, so I strive to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and met without judgment.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is rooted in genuine empathy, trust, and collaboration. I approach each session not as a process of “fixing” someone, but as a shared space where we explore your thoughts, emotions, and life patterns together. Having navigated my own personal journey, I deeply respect the vulnerability it takes to ask for help and the financial investment involved—especially in a culture where people are often taught to stay quiet and simply endure.
I believe genuine healing happens when clients feel safe, heard, and completely free from judgment. My role is to hold that safe space for you while offering practical, evidence-based tools that foster self-awareness and emotional resilience.
We work together as a team. You know your life best, and I am here to help you understand yourself, take back control, and build a life that feels right for you.
