About Sharla Rose Perola, RPsy
I am Sharla Rose Perola or Lala, and I am a Registered Psychologist with 18 years of experience in counseling, psychological assessment, and mental health program development. I pursued psychology because I have always been deeply curious about human behavior and inspired by people's capacity for growth, resilience, and healing.
My greatest motivation has been witnessing individuals gain insight into themselves, navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, and create meaningful changes in their lives. I especially love helping people uncover the patterns, beliefs, and strengths they may not yet recognize in themselves. There is something incredibly meaningful about seeing someone reconnect with their own resilience and realize they already possess many of the inner resources needed to move forward.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with my family, and creating memories through new experiences. I strive to approach every person with empathy, authenticity, and respect, believing that genuine understanding is often where meaningful and lasting change begins.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe some of life's most meaningful breakthroughs begin with a conversation rooted in curiosity and compassion. To me, therapy is one of the few places where people don't have to pretend to have everything figured out.
My approach is grounded in genuine curiosity, empathy, and collaboration. Rather than focusing on what's "wrong," I believe in understanding each person's story, making sense of the experiences that have shaped them, and gently uncovering the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I believe that deeper self-understanding creates the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change.
I see therapy as a space where emotions can be processed without judgment, thoughts can be explored with curiosity, and people can simply show up as they are. Rather than offering quick answers, I value creating a space that encourages reflection, self-discovery, and the rediscovery of one's strengths and resilience. To me, some of the most meaningful moments in therapy happen when people begin to see themselves with greater compassion, clarity, and hope.
